Goat milk producers in Ontario with a small, medium or large size herd,
are welcome to join the Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative. The co-op offers
producers the opportunity to take matters into their own hands and be
actively involved in the process of marketing their milk. As members and
owners of the co-op, producers will be fully informed of the organization's operations.
The co-op offers additional services for members through committees for
quality control, public relations, advice and research, using its members'
knowledge and expertise.
For shipping milk to the co-op, a member has to purchase shares: each
share costing $100.00 for 500 kg of total solids (approx. 4,000 litres).
A minimum of 10 shares is required.
To start shipping through the Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative, new members
have to pay a one time membership fee of $500.00 and a $100.00 administration fee.
Further, at least fifty percent of the total shipping shares have to be purchased.
The remaining amount for the shipping shares can be deducted from the first five
milk cheques, if desired. The Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative and the new member
will sign a contract (supply agreement).*
For more information on the membership, please phone the New Member Committee
(see Contact Us page).
*The requirements may be subject to changes.
